The thing that pissed me off the most tonight was the audience... I was standing in front of Thom, with these Americans in front of me smoking weed and not even applauding... They were in the front row and they never danced! That's just a fucking w.a.s.t.e.! Lots of foreigners, lots and lots. Maybe the reason for the lack of unity. Maybe it was the Heineken Music Hall's commercial feel, about which Thom made some cynical comments (after finishing a song: "Now you can have another drink"). But over the whole the audience never got crazy.
They messed up Paranoid Android (Thom (irritated): "Fuck it, let's do the next one." But he continues after crowd's cheering), You and Whose Army (Jonny's mistake), Street Spirit (Phil missing the beat and stopping for a while) and a couple of other errors occured. Not really Radiohead-like and it pissed them off. Thom made only minor contact with the (mildly enthusiastic) audience.
Ed had gotten fat. His shirt was too tight for his belly, so I guess he's denying it, which is a good thing.
Highpoints for me were Nude, Bangers 'n' Mash and House of Cards (beau-ti-ful). Altogether it was a bad Radiohead gig I guess, and a weird one for sure. But it was still an amazing set, with non-stop classics and great new songs. So what if they didn't play at full power, it was good to see them again. Actually I'll see them again tomorrow night, and I think they will be very keen to make up for their mistakes of today. Lucky me!
